Counselor
This position is designated for P.L.U.S. staff who are under 21 years old and are neither a sport head nor a group leader. A P.L.U.S. counselor’s duties include but are not limited to supporting group leaders or sport heads during the modules. Counselors are versatile and important camp employees who should have considerable experience with several of our core sports. This position requires a lot of energy and a certain amount of independent thought to have the confidence to lead when needed.

Sports Head
The P.L.U.S. sport head is required to have college experience in one or more of our five core sports: basketball, baseball/softball, lacrosse, soccer or tennis. A sport head is responsible for introducing campers to the values of respect, responsibility, fair play, perseverance and teamwork with lessons from the field of play. As a sport head it is important that you plan your modules using the P.L.U.S. cycle (warm up, activity, cool down) and candidate drills and games that incorporate the P.L.U.S. philosophy. Sport heads typically work with one gender.

Group Leader
The P.L.U.S. group leader is a very important cog in the wheel. Groups leaders should have a very solid understanding of the relationship between sports, the classroom and adolescents. Classroom teaching experience is very favorable for group leaders as are strong leadership skills in order create a culture that promotes P.L.U.S. core values. The group leader is not required to have experience with any of the sports but is required to participate in modules to help create an energized climate.
